About Moisture Resistant Sheets / Pieces
If you are searching for something more water-resistant than classic MDF, Harlow Bros' moisture-resistant MDF sheets are the perfect choice for your project.
Moisture-resistant MDF is pre-bonded and treated with moisture-repellent resins, making it more capable of dealing with damp or moist environments.
Moisture-resistant MDF features all the same properties as its standard counterpart – giving a smooth surface excellent versatility. However, the addition of moisture-repellent treatment makes the sheets ideal for indoor areas such as bathrooms and other spaces where water may regularly contact the boards.

FAQs
How can you tell if MDF is moisture-resistant?
You can easily tell the difference between Harlow Bros' standard and moisture-resistant MDF, as our moisture-resistant MDF has a green colour. This is a type of dye we use to help distinguish between regular MDF and treated MDF.
How do you make MDF moisture-resistant?
We create a moisture-resistant MDF by bonding it and treating it with moisture-repellent resins. These resins coat the outside of the sheet, helping to repel any moisture that may come into contact with it.
It is, however, important to note that you should still avoid high levels of contact between the MDF and water. It is suitable for damp areas such as bathrooms but should not be submerged in water or placed outdoors.
Can you paint moisture-resistant MDF?
Yes! All MDF, including moisture-resistant MDF, can be painted. However, it is always recommended to prime the surface with an MDF-specific sealant first.
