We can offer a one stop shop for all your constructional or joinery requirements. Whether that be traditional strength graded and regularised joists, bespoke machined and primed skirting, architraves and door linings, treated fencing or cut to size sheet materials, we offer a practical, cost effective solution.

Machining – Having invested consistently over the years in our mills we have the capacity to provide a complete machining service. With several six head moulders, ban re-saws, cross cut saw and spindle moulders at our disposal we have the ability to regularise carcassing, produce bespoke Door Casing/Linings, Skirtings, Architraves, A machine & match profiling service – we will match any profile you give us or machine brand new designs

Delivery – Harlow Bros offer a fast and efficient delivery service. Situated in the heart of the Midlands a stones throw from the M1 and other major motorway and road networks, with depots in Derby, Nottingham, Leicester, Loughborough, Coalville and Burton on Trent, our fleet of articulated and fixed bed crane off-load vehicles give us the flexibility to deliver your goods as and when you need them.

Treatment – It is essential in some circumstances to protect timber from fungal and insect attack. Harlow Bros offer both Wolmanit CX8 pressure and Wolsit KD 20 Double vacuum treatments. The treatments are performed in a controlled process with modern industrial treatment vessels giving an unrivalled level of protection.

Womanit CX8 and CX8 Brown pressure treatments are products based on inorganic copper and boron compounds, which are used preventively to combat wood-destroying insects and fungi, including those causing soft rot. Commonly used on projects such as fencing, decking and general construction where timber comes into contact with the ground.

For joinery items and many internal applications we offer Wolsit KD 20 double vacuum treatment, a clear, highly effective modern wood preservation system that offers reduced solution intake minimising swelling and shrinking whilst providing wood with dimensional stability.

Strength Grading – As well huge stocks of strength graded kiln dried carcassing and CLS (graded to BS4978 strength class C16 or C24), Harlow Bros also has its own team of Certificated Visual Stress Graders. Third party Trada certified.

Priming – We offer an efficient priming service for all mouldings, saving valuable time on site.

Finger Jointing – Not only are we able to supply any cross sectional size of timber but our finger jointing service, one of the few machines of it’s type in the UK, allows timber to be jointed to any length, with a choice of structural (able to achieve C16 & C24 strength grades) or non structural (door casings, architraves etc.) joints.

Regularising - A very simple, quick and effective sawing process giving timber uniform thickness and/or depth throughout its entire length. Used particularly when a consistently level surface is required, floor joists, ceilings & wall battens etc.

Sawing & Cross Cutting – Although we carry huge stocks of off the shelf sizes there will always be situations where specific non stock sizes and lengths are required. Our ban re-saws and cross cut saws allow us to produce any timber size and length exactly to your specification, another simple, cost effective way of saving time and labour on site.
