Timber Frame structures offers one of the most effective method of construction, it quick and easy to erect as well as being highly thermally efficient. It is ideally suited for Houses, Hotels, Schools, Care Homes and Sports Halls etc.

It’s is flexible in its construction, reliable, long lasting and an environmentally friendly method of construction.

Harlow Bros offer two principle types of timber frame construction dependent on how thermally efficient you require your timber frame structure to be.

Our single 140 studded option insulated with mineral wool offers U-values between 0.26 and 0.19W/m2K or alternatively, if insulated with polystyrene foam may offer values of 0.17 and 0.18W/m2K.

However, the Harlow Bros developed twin wall timber frame system ‘Frame Linx’ offer U-values between 0.11 and 0.16W/m2K. The additional benefit with Frame Linx is that it is insulated with Warmcel 500 insulation (100 % recycled newsprint) that is not only efficient in its thermal properties; its acoustic performance is excellent.

Other benefits of Warmcel insulation are that it is fire retardant, resistant to insect and rodent infestation, aids air test performance and carry’s a Zero Carbon rating under the BREEAM assessment.
