Manufacture
All our spandrel panels are manufactured at our Timber Frame factory situated in Burton upon Trent. The MiTek design programme (Wood Engine) will provide the required profiles, timber sizes, cutting lists and construction drawings. The correct grade and size of timber will be indicated and shown on a cutting list for the saw operator.
Once all the materials are cut they will be passed on to the jig to be made into the Spandrel panel. The jig is set up in the correct position to create the correct profile, once this has been set the rest of the panels will be made to the exact same set up. Once the truss profile has been made it will then have 2 layers of 12.5mm plasterboard attached to one side then filled with 75mm glass insulation then sealed by using a 9mm OSB board on the other side. Finally all the edges of the plasterboard are taped and sealed.
Once a set has been finished it will be stacked together, banded and wrapped to prevent weather damage then loaded carefully onto the truck. All other products needed to complete the job will be boxed and marked accordingly, in one of these boxes will be a truss layout for you to follow.
